Dowell far too casual in central midfield - gives the ball away far too easily and far too often, even when not under pressure. Hope to be proved wrong, but doesn't look anywhere near the level of player we need to kick on - perhaps decent top-half Championship player at best. I thought Silva rated him highly, but little sign of progression the past couple of seasons.

He’s very very poor defensively. He makes some good slideys and is willing to put his body on the line so loads of our fans think he’s boss, but he’s dreadful in any other situation. He’s actually much better going forward, but lacks the pace and physicality to be a proper top level threat these days. He’ll have a good career, but I’ll be disappointed if it’s with us.
