Was that for the town or the whole area to be included in South Lakeland.......

It seems the EU referendum constituency is for the Borough Council of Barrow, and not for the Parliamentary constituency.

Now that is more interesting.

I'm not 100% sure.

In the meantime the OBR are forecasting over £100bn shortfall in expected Government receipts to 2020 as a result of the Brexit uncertainties.

That's a huge cost for no definable benefit.

When we leave the uncertainties will go away......in fact, if the remainers stopped messing about there would be fewer uncertainties........the definable benefit is not just measured in short term monetary values.....I didn't vote to leave for monetary gain......

I'm a business owner. As such, I just see no sense whatsoever in undertaking an action that would very likely damage my business, even if my employees wanted to do it. As the owner, I should take responsibility for ultimately making the calls in the best interest of the business and their jobs.

That's why everything about this situation we're in stuns me. It's unprecedented national self-harm.

I'm sure you didn't.

The point is though that the £100 billion shortfall, or indeed any shortfall materially affects the lives of the poor, the sick, and the needy. Even if Hammond has a different view than Osborn on cuts, it is inevitable that public services will be cut as a result of the reduction in Government income. That combined with higher inflation (increase in fuel prices, food and the basics) plus a likely increase in interest rates before the end of this Government will affect the lives of ordinary people, further reducing demand and potentially Government revenues well into the 2020's.

The most vulnerable in society always suffer the most financially and through reduced provision of essential public services in times of economic slow down. It's very difficult to see a less than difficult number of years ahead for those that can least afford it.

I think it stuns you because, deep down, you think that people who aren't you shouldn't have a vote.

The problem is the uncertainty, not the Brexit. If Cameron (or May) had done what they should have done the day after the referendum result - activate Article 50 - then we would have certainty. As it is, we don't and elites here and across Europe are talking themselves into positions of monumental idiocy.

Actually rolled my eyes for real reading this drivel.

That article claims that an area that is like 90%+ his constituency voted to Remain by a margin higher than the national vote swung to Leave.

Cumbria isn't all one LA or constituency.
Slitting hairs 5 out of 6 over out in his district some leader wanting a 2nd referendum still a disgraceful leader IMO!
