Why does the vote of the people not matter to you?

Many reasons (i) it was advisory (ii) the false pretences upon which voters voted, (iii) for all its faults, we live in a parliamentary democracy (the government were elected on a pro-European manifesto) and (iv) ultimately parliament has to act in the best interests of the nation - leaving the EU with no semblance of a plan or strategy afterwards is so damaging to the nation it cannot be contemplated.

Kick them all out,

I understand that you want to remain, however I can't get into the mindset of wanting to overrule the majority of people. It's completely wrong and I find it quite baffling. You can mention the legalities and technicalities.

But it's really quite simple, we voted to leave and we should leave.

Anyway a couple of things can now happen. The Supreme Court can either confirm or overturn the result. If they confirm then the onus is on the MP's to either agree with the voters or to reject the vote result. If they overturn the result there will be some miserable folk on here........

17,410,742 pissed off voters nationwide. The biggest number of votes with the highest turnout for quite some time, possibly ever.

When politicians have something to say they do so. No-one in Government expected this result and there were no contingency plans - that is self evident.

(Also a very good friend of mine sits on the Brexit Select Committee)

There were no contingency plans at the time of the vote, that was indeed evident, but we've moved on four months and still have five more months before we initiate leaving. Nine months is more than enough to develop a strategy and a plan..

(Also a very good friend of mine is preparing it)......
