We will not replicate Norways deal. We will do a UK deal with the EU.......
Think your being over optomistic. The EU cannot give the UK a better deal than the other non-members who have access to the single market,it would be the first stepthe complete break up of the EU and they know it.Anyway what happened to all the new UK- World trading opportunities the Brexiteers promised?

You would imagine it would be pretty hard to backtrack on the arrangement we've promised Nissan at the very least. I mean, the tariffs (or lack of) we've promised them aren't actually things we can promise them. Add in a quite probably similar deal for the City with passporting and that's two fairly hefty chunks of leverage the EU have over us right there.

I dont call working off the cuff to get Nissan to expand their businesses in the UK!
The UK is more than capable of standing on its own two feet the EU realise this so the nastiness is to give remainers hope!
I just love the idea Nissan deal was based on kisses and handshakes, with no money from the UK to cover tarrifs ;)

I honestly hope your correct, but fear that the present Govt is working off the cuff. Can you imagine the reaction of Norway and the Swiss if the UK gets continued access to the Single Market with closed borders?

I would imagine they would ask for the same, then the EU would say you can have it when your populations hit 65 Million..

They are not allowed to be done until we leave...

Thank goodness Mark Carney is going to serve at least his full term.

Aside from providing much needed stability, his timely intervention immediately after the Brexit vote was hugely valuable at a time when the elected executive had gone AWOL.

That's the first post of yours in this thread that I've agreed with.........

Apparently when Nissan heard that May had a proposal for them, they assumed it was James May not the PM.
Its a sore point that sticks in remainers throats get use to it by next spring news will be even better The EU will not cut their noses off to spite there faces and if May boxes the car industry off they will want to purchase our cars so imo she is already out flanking Brussels in fact she could easily lower corporation tax to stop any exodus of businesses in fact more business would be attracted to the UK - being independent from the polictical EU does not mean trade should stop also the WTO is also another great thing to look forwards too its not worth just thinking negatively, if you look at Brexit positively we will benefit in the long term imo!

I've heard this argument all through the campaign, I find it interesting because that's exactly what we have done.
