I do know about WTO tariff quotas, and obviously both sides will argue their point as we divide them up equitably. So once again, why would the EU wish to be belligerent or make an enemy of the UK.
If you are now saying that the EU will just negotiate aggressively, then say so, and stop all this nonsense about how they have some form of upper hand via vetoes and so on. Pienaar's Gloves even believed that you were saying that the EU could veto the UK membership of the WTO, such was the tone.....but then again he is new to this.......
I expect everyone to negotiate aggressively, but I also want you and others to realise that when it comes down to the crunch the EU is a weightier and more important member of the WTO than the UK and ultimately that will be reflected in negotiations and the response of other WTO members.
That is undeniable.
No you got it right I don't like the EU polictical union glad the message as sunk in at last!
I always got told I was special when I was younger!WAIT no way, you're blaming The Guardian for something the Prime Minister said?
That's special.

That really blows the Brexit argument and any confidence we or others may have in May wide apart.
I've talked of political leadership - time to blow this farce apart.
My argument won the brexit vote yours lostI'm a sceptic of any body that holds power. I think the EU in its present form is far from perfect.
The thing is Joey, you're a fundamentalist. The second you say you can't be swayed by any argument, your credibility takes a dive. It means that you can't be swayed by reason.
I'm not against criticism of the EU - but it's been hugely beneficial to the UK, Brexit is likely to be damaging and you don't want to engage with this.
That's your problem, probably my generation and my children that will pay for it, but it's your perogative to vote and debate on the basis of your unfounded and poorly reasoned argument.
So back to the question I have asked on more than a dozen occasions, WHY would the EU want to hurt the UK a country that can hurt the EU just as well, what is in it for them
WAIT no way, you're blaming The Guardian for something the Prime Minister said?

Give it a rest mate....or should we just go with Corbyn........
This is the now Prime Minister giving a speech to bankers and investors less than 6 months ago which is completely the reverse of her position today.
It's nothing to do with Corbyn - it's only to do with the cuckoo like tendencies of May, a pure opportunist, totally unsuitable to lead our negotiations in the most important economic decisions our nation will make.
Are you being deliberate obtuse?
We have no leverage post Brexit - out of the single market, and no agreed WTO terms as an independent (of the EU) nation.
The EU in the meantime maintains their single market and their relationship with the WTO remains constant and intact.
They will and should be expected to, take every advantage of the situation, just as we would if the situation was reversed.
