No I want us to trade all over the world with the other 160 countries in the WTO!

Of course, the EU can still influence our WTO trading terms post Brexit thus the idea that we can just press the WTO button and trade differently to currently is a misnomer.

No the uK voted out never at any stage were 5 million people was it ever stated they could hold that vote to ransom?
It was not a separate vote also a % voted to leave in scotkland if it was 90 % they may have a case imo!

also still trade with the EU after negotiations!

Many in the EU side of the negotiations seem to think we're wallies. You've got Boris petitioning for Turkey to be allowed in, despite having campaigned on the apparent horrors of such a situation, and now May saying that despite Brexit meaning Brexit she still expects to be able to meddle for the next two years in things that don't really concern her any more.

I'm not sure we could have rubbed them up the wrong way more had we gone out of our way to do so. She may as well have put on a funny accent and motioned to fart in their general direction.

I agree with all that bruce but both side told porky pies imo!

I wonder how many WTO members have been insulted by the foreign secretary over the years? It's a good job we don't need just one of them to veto any proposed WTO deal.

fear tactics again being used by the remainers - what and how did we ever survive outside this corrupt organisation?

I think we largely survived by invading countries and forcing them to bend to our will. Once the empire had gone our economy went a bit belly up until basket case status had been achieved. The world is an interconnected one these days and requires collaboration, not confrontation. Sadly I'm inclined to think it's already too late for that lesson to sink in to the Brexit team.

1950s and upto 1970's who did we invade Bruce? Harold Wilson had the sense to keep us out of Vietnam - blair took us into Iraq Thather took us in to the falklands we were in the EU then!

The economy went gradually downhill throughout that period, despite being 'able to trade with the world'.
We had little they wanted to buy once the former Colonies trade died off we were up the proverbial, hence the reason we joined the EEC in the first place.

These days what we make is largely owned by Foreign companies who can move without a thought for old Blighty's plight.

Thatcher saw off our manufacturing base and it's only because we were able to attract global business here, to be their base for penetrating the EU market that we've got any manufacturing left at all!

All of this 'brave New World' jingoistic cobblers that's being chucked around is just that. We're not a power base of manufacturing anymore, we're a depot on the European stage for Global business.
