Not popcorning at all, and I apologise if it's either scary or condescending, but I believe we are tetering on the edge of an economic calamity, and extra-ordinary measures are (IMO) called for.

Do you have any idea of the chaos that would befall our nation if we took the advice of you and the North London Liberal political elite and deliberately sought to reverse the democratic vote of the people.....you say that we vote politicians to lead...well May is doing just that...what you are calling for is insurrection amongst the political parties who didn't win the election or have even failed within their own parties....there would be justifiable outrage......
 
You can't claim to support democracy and advocate ignoring a democratically taken decision.

And as for your scaremongering mate, I'd expect better. There is no economic calamity on the horizon. In fact business is proving, as expected, to be very resilient.

And this has been the case since the vote, it is scaremongering put across as though it is economic fact. Just after the vote the views were to respect the vote, it hasn't taken long for those who believe they know better to demand a political reversal...pure unadulterated arrogance and abdication from democracy.....
 
There's a reason why we elect representatives to act in our and our nation's best interests, and at times of crisis, leadership is required not political pandering to the electorate.

Go read Lincoln's Gettysberg address, and THEN understand the true meaning of elected representatives of the people. In fact, to save you the trouble, here is the pertinent part: "...that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people shall not perish from the earth..."

From what I read of your recent posts, you appear to advocate exactly the opposite of what I have quoted. If the decision does not suit your personal view and preference, then you denigrate it and the way forward in every way possible. Sad...

Assuming it goes to the house, The Lords will do the dirty work if the commons bottles it

The Tories are already talking about doing a Lloyd George lol

I'm sure the advocates of our great democracy on here will decry that Tory idea as totally undemocratic........
 
The EU bullies countries like Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Spain to do as it is told. Yes they do Joey and not one other country stood up in their defence including the UK government.

They will trade with us they export more to us so tariffs are out, they as Tusk said in his hared speech towards us it's a big blow to both the EU and the UK us leaving as I stated once we leave watch for the rush to the exit door by other countries !

I'm sure some will look forward to the day when Labour are odds on to win the General Election and Jeremy Corbyn expects to become PM, so Teresa May decides that the public dont really understand the damage he would do to the economy so the Tories vote to abolish the election and the house of lords. As some will no doubt say "at times of crisis, leadership is required not political pandering to the electorate".......
