It's a shame the fearless crusaders for Brexit no longer post in here. It was a thriving hub of cocksure geriatrics delivering brutal anecdotal rebuttals to expert predictions and analysis, a daily barrage of common sense insight derived from a lived experience devoid of annoying considerations of nuanced interdependent and complex systems.

Oddly humble and silent in this moment of reflection for the huge benefits they've brought.
I've never read a better worded post on GOT. You have a command of the English language rarely found on sn Internet platform. Well done sir, well done.

The local/UK population has a better chance at successfully pressuring a UK government than it does a Brussels government. For one it can kick the lying, do-nothing UK f**kers out of government. The UK voting public cannot kick out the Danish, German, French or Italian representatives in Brussels.
In the same way the Florida public can't kick the New York Representatives out?
Crap argument that

That's why I'd be in favor of less Federal Power. Florida, even after a century or more of Federal power grabbing, still has a fair degree of States rights.

For the Federal system to work in the US small states are way over represented in Washington to ensure they are not overwhelmed by large states with massive populations. Wyoming is is given the same number of Senators as California.

Without this small state bias the whole US Federal structure collapses. Why? Because small states would correctly believe they have little to no power at the Federal level.

They are stronger together simple as that
EU States have more national sovereignty than US States but you say they should split for some meaningless inability to vote out representatives from different States.

I wouldn’t bother. He gets pulled up for posting nonsense and misinformation repeatedly but carries on regardless. Will not answer when the questions get tough.

Whether or not US states are stronger together is utterly irrelevant. I said small states being over-represnted in Washington is what keeps the Federation of States together. It's a house of cards without it.

Oh, and the US population does have a national identity. Floridians still feel kinship with Wisconsinites and Californians. I don't think there is a similar kinship between Germans and Greeks.

And within a single generation one member of the EU already has left it. It's not a stupid argument when the US has a proven stable political history of 250 years outwith one singular dark period of Civil War. A similar relationship may develop in Europe. However, it's not stupid to point out that may does not equate with will.

I personally think a pan European identity is forming. However, I just don't think it is linked to the EU. I believe the newly forming European identity will destroy the EU as we know it. We see it in the rising populist parties in the likes of France and Germany.

You see a pan-European identity forming in the nationalist parties on the rise?

Ok buddy.

*puts another coin in the monkey*

How can the first sentence be irrelevant, if you make the second?

And, aside from WW2 and the debt crisis, Greece and Germany have a strong historical relationship dating back to the Holy Roman Empire.

Aside from the war of independence, the civil war, the great depression, the civil rights movement, Watergate, the January 6th insurrection and multiple presidents assassinated.

It's been plain sailing for the USA.
