Think of a country as a club where you have been given a guest pass as long as you abide by the rules. If you break the rules you will be shown the door.

If you are a member of the club, yes there are different rules.

I'm not sure any of this requires any of your outrage quite frankly, despite it being your soapbox.

Because that's what the law of the land says? We operate under a system whereby people serve a sentence for their crime, after which they're free to live their lives again. That's how it works. We don't operate under one in which you complete your sentence and then live a secondary sentence out among the public.
