So we still trade with the EU, but additionally will have free trade with the CPTPP. I’ve no doubt when the U.K.-USA FTA is done you’ll all be complaining about that as well. Get real guys, the EU is a protectionist and Political bloc whose share of world GDP falls every year, while the CPTPP will immediately be bigger than the EU when the U.K. formally joins and will continue to grow year on year. You are stuck in a protectionist and out of date mindset of don’t upset the status quo. Those voting remain did so because they are frightened of change and dealing with non-white, non-european peoples around the world…not that I would go so far as to call you racist though. It’s a big world and it’s a smart geopolitical move……

Another Brexit benefit:

Simon Calder, travel correspondent at the Independent, said processing times since leaving the EU had increased sharply "and that would seem to explain the delays".
Speaking to BBC Breakfast, he said that having an EU border at Dover meant things were "gumming up", and that each individual passport must now be inspected and stamped.
This means that coach loads of passengers must disembark to have their passports checked, adding to delays.

I expect Brexiteers will be glad that France is now controlling its own borders.

Once the fingerprint checking comes in later in the year that’ll add a nice delay for you chaps , not me thanks to my new passport though .

At least that rice from Vietnam is easier to import so that’s a reasonable trade off .

It would be nice if France applied the same zeal to controlling those who leave it’s borders…..

anyone remember that 'league of nations'....

If I remember, it mostly consisted of British Empire countries plus China and a few European countries and their colonies. Germany joined late then left in 1933, the USA didn’t join. What point you are trying to make of this regarding the EU, Trade or the CPTPP I haven’t a clue…….

what
a
bout
ery

could France ask the same of Germany or Spain or Italy? pass the buck, hide from the responsibility, it's everyone elses fault....

You raise a good point. How does France allow people to just arrive from Germany or Spain or Italy, yet stop U.K. holiday makers going to France for two weeks. Obviously nothing to do with Schengen………
