Too many people competing for the same low paid job = lower wages.

Too many people competing for the same first-time buyer house = higher house prices.

Put the two together, this is a bad combination for the working class.

Less competition for jobs = higher wages. Less competition for housing = lower house prices.
Please read this

and then ask yourself why wages have gone up across the world despite the global population adding about 6 billion people in the past 100 years.

Not in the local co-op or tesco express, no.

Im sure if I walked down the Aldi or lidl I can get frozen food but it still doesn’t make it right.

I don’t even eat frozen food tbh but it’s shocking to see the state of some of the shops at the moment.

and? Shelves are empty in EU countries (france and Belgium). This thread would have you believe the EU was the garden of eden.

I can't speak for everyone (however, I have a strong sense that most will think the same as me) but I can speak for myself and I think that there are always going to be the odd logistics problem across the globe. That is the nature of logistics, a mass breakdown in vehicles, staffing levels, fuel price hikes, weather, traffic jams, etc.

Why would anybody, however, think of putting trade and working barriers in place to affect things even further. It is not the sole issue but Brexit is part of the issue.

I live in Germany and it is beautiful here, shelves stocked and everything.

As an added bonus (not relevant to the logistics problems), I am wanted and respected here and am allowed to stay for at least 10 years, the residency permit went extremely smoothly, bit slow in getting my appointment but we can definitely blame Covid on that.

Shelves are stocked in the Uk, the issue has been blown well out of proportion

Most supermarkets have cut back on the non essential items, to make sure essential items get through, thats the industry speaking, so that can be ignored.
I struggle to get fresh items im looking for on any given day and there is much reduced choice now. think anyone is lying if they don't recognize this. First world problem indeed, still not what we were promised, more goods and cheaper i believe...

As somebody already said, there was a strike at Carrefour. An agreement has been reached & shops will be fully stocked in no time.
Nothing to do with a shortage of lorrydrivers or difficulties at the France-UK border.
