Im not the flag waving type but certainly appreciate growing up in a country that allows me to live a comfortable life.

There are many folk these days that sit on their brand new Iphone complaining about the Goverment/country without realising how privileged they are to be able to do so.
When you get that first non lockdown haircut, tell them to steer well clear of that forlock. Wouldn't do for you not to have something to tug.

Hundreds of billions more debt built up, more cuts to an already overstretched armed forces, increased division in society, tolerance of corruption, more authoritarianism, worsening life circumstances for the majority etc etc.

Successive governments have helped to ruin this country, I don’t see why this one should get to wrap itself in a flag it has contempt for.
As someone has pointed out already .... more nukes to protect the food banks though

In the past, our nuclear deterrent really only had to consider Russia, and our capabilities were deemed enough to dissuade an attack by them. The picture has changed however, China, North Korea and shortly Iran now joins a group who are potentially enemies of the U.K. and may threaten us. Upping the numbers slightly to ensure appropriate coverage response is probably behind it, but who knows. Anyway, when Scotland goes and we base them all in Anglesey you can let us know.....

So if it all kicks off how many are we going to actually get to use before we’re all wiped out first ?

Last time the scots kicked of they (the subs)were going to north America to be based for a year then going to the south coast in a new base.

Rumours they are getting a hybrid power plant there nuclear and hydrogen mix , from a USA films plans exiting stuff, if it comes off plenty of jobs for the taffs,
they can do bb for all the English workers :p
There’s a bit of local dispute at the moment concerning a company named Land & Lakes, they have bought land which was owned previously by Rio Tinto. The aluminium smelting plant was based very near the land which is currently a nature reserve and part of the coastal path. L&L want to destroy the reserve and build a centre parks type holiday camp.... the catch being that they firstly want to use the park as a base for all the workers who will be building the new plant (if it ever goes ahead). The build is going to take approximately 15-20 years to complete and after that the site of the workers accommodation will be transformed into the holiday park. Anybody with half a brain knows that as soon as the power plant is built L&L will cease to exist and us locals will be left with a derelict caravan site and a hefty bill to tidy the place up.

A holiday camp next door to a plant?
That's a novel selling point.
