Re the moving on shtick. Suffice to say I'm not sat here twiddling my thumbs and am trying to hedge the risk, but nonetheless, if the Commission decides it doesn't want to work with the UK as much then that is a hole I'd rather not have had to fill.

Even eel farm man isn't going to throw his hands up and say stuff it. People will do the best they can regardless. The job of government is to make it easier. Right now, they have failed.

No Bruce, right now they have delivered what the country voted for. Their actions over the next twelve months are the ones to judge....

They haven't though, have they Pete? There was nothing in the referendum that dictated how the UK should leave the EU. Indeed, having a Norway-style arrangement would have fulfilled the incredibly simplistic outcome of the referendum, just as a full no deal, with everything in between. How we've ended up leaving is purely at the door of this government.

Eel man thought he was getting frictionless trade so I'm not sure how wide ranging the 'country voted for' in that sentence extendeds.

And given you've, seemingly on a day to day basis, changed the definition of what outcome you wanted depending upon how slighted the Telegraph are telling you to be, stating 'we got what we wanted' is a bit daft.

People will adapt and survive. Sorry we don't know yet if they have failed. We wait and see

And yet there was a lot of disquiet during the campaign about the contributions made by the UK to the EU. Indeed, the decision not to continue with Erasmus was done largely due to its cost. Do you remember? It was on the side of the bus.

I love all this talk of Erasmus. A wonderful educational opportunity for those at university to improve their lives even further and to add to the advantages that they already have. Meanwhile those that lament its now passing, can’t even admit that the 11+, made a complete life change for a much larger number of disadvantaged children and that’s its abolishment snatched away a life changing opportunity. But hey, let’s give even more to those who already have, and keep those poor kids down where they belong........

I think you may find that those that voted to leave, apart from @tsubaki , are probably quite happy with what we have and where we are......

Will the Turing scheme be worse then. While more Global in outlook, it looks as though it will be an equivalent opportunity.....
