I think Hinkley Point has given us a clue as to the cost of signing future trade deals with China at least. When you set the bar,it's hard to lower.

What are the views on the article that I linked to you and the fact your own source ^ contradicts what you just said?

what point that you cant explain why you lost the referendum or you think the EU which is going down the plughole is great?
look its a forum but I put a BBC graph up doing a Bruce Wayne showing we are out of pocket by 8 billion per year how can that be any good???????
The point that post Brexit our net position could be worse than the £8BN we paid in.....

If GDP fell by 2% post an ACTUAL Brexit, which left us outside of the single market. Then the net revenue gain to the treasury even after the £8BN net EU contribution ceased - would be zip, nada, zilch, nowt, nothing, zero i.e. we'd be no better off. As the £8BN would disappear into thin air - get it?

anybody got a link to the story about the affect on jobs in the Uk and EU if we have trade restrictions, levy's,
Study was out this morning with the figures it was on the BBC 4 news , before 6 am cant find any links it anywhere , I was still to sleepy headed to take them in.

There has been something reported from Civitas who revealed that 5.8 million jobs in the EU are dependent on UK trade while 3.6 million British jobs are linked to business with EU countries.......

So what you're saying is that Britain on a per country basis will be hit far harder?

Not quite

Civitas research fellow Justin Protts, who conducted the analysis, said: "Each of the remaining EU countries has a higher proportion of their workforce employed in jobs that rely on UK trade than the UK has with that EU country.

"Based on the potential impact on jobs, each EU country should be aware of the significant economic benefit in terms of jobs stemming from trade with the UK."

Germany, often dubbed Europe's engine, has an estimated 1.3 million jobs, 3.2% of the country's positions, linked to exports to the UK.

In Britain there are 800,000 jobs tied to exports to Germany, the equivalent of 2.4% of UK jobs.

Smaller countries are particularly reliant on trade with the UK, with the number of jobs tied to it standing at 9.5% in Ireland, 9% in Malta and 8.8% in Cyprus.
