New VAT rules for importing, anyone?

@ToffeeTim

Seems like any manufacturer outside of the UK needs to spend at least 1k upfront to register to pay VAT via an agency (probably owned by a seeing minister's family member).

Surely this is going to seriously limit purchasing choice and favour corporations (FFS)?

While everyone is fapping about fishing

Another world leader we're happy to toss down the river on the good ship Brexit

Will Brexit affect another of our "world leading" industries, ie money laundering through the "City of London" spivs?
Don't think so, bets against our "economy'" are making millions for greedy disaster capitalist individuals.

More winning....

More expensive, less choice, and in some cases, no choice.

Ironically, it stems from an EU rule that's being introduced at the end of the year, however, our government appears to have opted for an interpretation that favours corporations/big business, whereas the EU's doesn't...

This is actually 100% true. It is very odd.

Ahhh..those CEOs who are feted as the "captains of industry"..trod on everyone on their way to the "top" Sacked working people for "the greater good"
Lots in common with their supposed enemy...Josef Stalin

It's not odd though, unfortunately, there are plenty of instances of ukgov tweaking EU laws to favour larger scale operations, sad as it is.

From Etsy, Kickstarter, buying that rare CD to that cottage industry tool/item that isn't made or imported here, it's really poop, and obviously, it'll apply to the EU countries too :(

42. Which brings us onto Brexit: and Boris Johnson’s oven-ready deal has skipped the middle-man and gone straight into the toilet

Yes because the ENTIRE financial services system is just a collection of disaster capitalists.

Enough of it is. I defy anyone to look at what happened to James Ibori (and especially his lawyer Bhadresh Gohil) and come to a conclusion that the system as a whole is not just a collection of disaster capitalists.
