At no cost of being members of the EU. The EU doesn't pay for our wind energy, energy companies do. I'm not opposed to the use of power stations generally, but surely renewable energy such as wind is a good thing? Decrying it on grounds of being an eye sore and noisy is a poor excuse given the return we get from them.

Like all engineering developments, renewable energy is at an early stage and will have all sorts of technological trials and assessments. Today's 'windmills' will disappear over the next 20-30 years just like the original ones did. We do however need to keep trying out differing methods and technologies if we are to perfect a form of device that will deliver what we want. It's very early days though and we should perhaps remember this.........

Now you are just being silly. I asked you what China, India etc are doing in respect of green initiatives because I thought you might know, but from your response I can see that you don't, and would prefer to play the man and not the ball.

In respect of scientists, if you believe that we are at the absolute pinnacle of scientific and engineering knowledge and that none of today's beliefs will ever be disproven then you or your children could be in for a disappointment
Of course not, but I won't look back at this time and be in absolute disbelief of real physical evidence being presented in front of me and denying everything, because 'back in my day they said a similar thing, but it turned out it was wrong, so all scientists are dumb and I know best'.

China are dropping the use of coal and switching to solar and wind (WOAH LOOK AT THAT) power, with plans to minimise coal usage as much as possible, because of the emissions. Also, the government isn't taxing electric cars in an attempt (so-so with that one really) to reduce emissions, as well as having a trade ban on businesses that have a certain % of CO2 emissions (power plants etc).

India is the fastest growing solar power developer and user in the world, or at least were last year, so hard luck with that one.

Brazil have the eyesore from above as well as solar aplenty, in South America.

Russia is in the top 5 of renewable energy producing countries in the world, and the highest hydroelectric energy producing country.

Better?

Maybe even less, or at least they might start changing, but I actually agree with this :O

One word subsidies most wind farms are EU technology based as is nuclear energy?
Pity clean coal was not subsidised instead of importing it from Poland and its gash!
Just had Clumbian stuff delivered as I post!

Far more important I’m proved right than for Brexit to be successful, says Remain supporter

A Remain supporter has confirmed that he would feel much happier for Brexit to be a massive failure and proven right than for Britain to become successful in a post-EU world.

“Well, obviously, I’d like to live in a successful country,” said Simon Williams, a Remain supporter who works in ‘media’.

“But not at the expense of me being proved wrong. That’s unthinkable.

“These are clearly very uncertain times,” he continued while sipping a frappe-mocha-latte-coo-coo-ca-chino.

“So I think it’s important that I, along with all remain supporters, maintain a constant state of gloom and pessimism, and meet any signs of optimism by saying something like ‘well, it’s early days, you wait until the country just falls into a big hole in the ground and everyone dies screaming, then you’ll be sorry’.

“Because otherwise it might mean that Brexit won’t be a disaster, and who wants to live in a world where people like me can possibly be wrong about anything.”

Mr Williams continued banging on interminably about racism, the older generation, and claiming to be ‘seriously looking at relocating to Ireland,’ before he realised that everyone had stopped listening so he wandered off to drink some ‘craft’ ale instead.

Not sure if you realised Pete but that's parody?
