Then if you have any knowledge and appreciation of classical antiquity you will know that they should absolutely be returned.
I agree , just make copies for us and send them back to were they come from ,
I am sure they mean more to the people of Greece than to most here.
Who actually owns them , are they the museums are lent for exhibition?
If the museum has bought them should just get the money back and send them home.

And bizarrely, you only seem to earn 'education points' if you have a PhD, not a masters or any other form of degree. The ironic thing is most PhDs are paid below the minimum salary threshold. It's a pig's ear.

"At least it keeps THEM out"

It's okay though. They'll be throwing emergency contingency plans and changing it adhoc

I thought we’d finally seen some self awareness from you there. Imagine bringing the irrelevant war up AGAIN and then accusing others of stupidity.

You didn’t fight in WW2, hardly anyone alive did, it’s a positive we don’t have to, it has no meaning.
try telling that to mark francois, I think he is going to be very upset when he finds out he isn't a war hero

They’re owned by the British Museum, having been bought a couple of hundred years ago.

Although FWIW the only real argument as to why they should be returned is to restore the monument itself; sending them back to a Greek museum would be as bad as where they are now (given that modern Greeks have only slightly more in common with classical Athens than we do).

Whether they should or should not be returned is another issue. I personally would return them. What they should not be, is a demand within a trade deal. The Eu said that they would only offer us a Canada type trade deal, now that we have said fine that will do, they are now pushing all manner of demands in order to extract concessions from the U.K. I would just walk away.....

It's okay Pete. Such is the state of knife crime around the British Museum that no one gets out alive that goes in, so the chances of nicking it are remote. Sadly your phobia of all things London also mean you've probably never set eyes on the very things you're acting all butt hurt about having returned to where they came from.

I have no issue about where the Elgin Marbles are kept nor who owns them. My comment was to highlight the ridiculous concept of the Eu insisting that they form part of a free trade deal......

Why shouldn't it be a demand in a trade deal? Surely to continue the views of some of your favoured lot, nothing should be off the table?

You could walk away and you'd be harming mainly yourself, but hey, such are the Brexit lot like

They are completely different situations. No amount of dots will cover up your ignorance.

Why do you think any world wars have a relevance to this discussion outside of ‘we’ve not had one whilst the EU has existed? Your nonsense war loving patriotism is silly.

Of course. It was as ridiculous as including the Elgin Marbles in a free trade agreement. Maybe now you will see the point I was making....

It's not though, they are completely different points. You just love brining up the war because you're so desperate for people to say thank you sir to Britain and think there's something glorious about it
