As I have said , most of the beef used in the UK is from the UK, if the price goes up to export it, we will use it instead of importing EU beef which will be more costly due to tariffs.*Éire.
If Ireland has something to fear that would suggest they might stop buying them because it’s expensive? In that case doesn’t the UK have something to fear?
And what’s the plan for Northern Irish beef to Ireland?
The UK will just have to up its game on processing it.
Ireland (Eire) would have to sell with a higher price due to the tariffs, why would the UK buy it, if it's not cost effective to do so. There would be no shortage of UK beef to fill the gap.
Unless Ireland want to absorb the costs at there end .
Northern Ireland can send its beef to the mainland to help towards any shortfall with EU beef being more expensive.
Without the UK market Ireland would have no use for northern Ireland's beef as they would be left with a mountain of unsold beef on there side.
As we wouldn't be in the EU we could offer the northern Irish farmers subsidy to cover any shortfall in the income due costs to transport to the mainland.
Specialist beef like Aberdeen Angus might take a hit on the international market with tariffs ,but if the scots get there way that will not be a problem for long as they might be members of the EU if they get there way.
