It really upsets me to see this .They sadly don't know what they actually want ,they just know it isn't what they have today .Don't expect them to do much to get it either as most are immune to work. I visited Germany to see a distant relative about twenty years ago and he had friends /acquaintances who had wardrobes full of Nazi uniforms just waiting for the day to get them out again -these were responsible ,respectable business men to the outside world .Do they not see what racial hatred has done to this world ? Do they not realise the root cause is actually them and not the poor souls they blame.
When I moved abroad to live I got to see the world from a shocking angle , in Finland ,one of the more welcoming countries with about 7% of non nationals ,there is still more acceptance if you are" of wholly European origin ". Generally it is fine but not always.
I dont trust nationalism in any of its guises: political or cultural. Some nationalist movements are a response to the greater crime of imperialism, but they tend to always end up at the same place: exclusivity and bigotry - more especially in straitened times.

The EU will make sure there is tariff free trade, brexit is going to be the making of us.

I think this will upset Boris (from the BBC News website):
President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has said negotiations would be "hard and fair and fast" but that the closer the UK wanted to be to the bloc, the more of its common rules it would have to abide by.

Get the popcorn folks. The next few months are going to be VERY interesting.

Christ. Posters on here talking about trade deals and multi-national negotiations like they have a clue what they’re talking about. ‘Playing hardball’ indeed lol Get more sense by getting a chimp to post comments on the Tom Davies thread

Jimmy: Quite right. Posters here haven't a clue how things will map out.

5th biggest economy in the world, a massive customer for European businesses, the 1st, 2nd or 3rd biggest export market to the vast majority of those EU companies.

"In 2016, Britain was the largest single export market for German manufacturers, who sold 800,000 new cars there, or 20 percent of their overall global exports."

The deal they have to do with us will be more favourable to us than any deals the EU have done before with other nations.
Well, that is a relief....

I don't like to praise him, but Johnson is playing it exactly as we should have played to with the EU from the start, May was weak, Johnson is going to play hard ball and the EU will cave you just watch.

I've said it all along, they sell 66bn(2018) more to us than we buy every year, a no deal hurts them more than us, and they know it, last thing the EU wants is to not have free trade with us.

And a lot of our standards in this country supersede the standards in the EU, yet we don't ask them to align with us to do trade.

Indeed. The EU are scared that we will compete with them, hence all this standards and proximity nonsense. They want us tied up with the ball and chain again. As Boris has stated, we should not adhere to their rules anymore than we would demand that they adhere to ours. Also, it’s staggering that they want access to fishing, even though there are no end of people on here saying that fishing is no big deal, yet it seems to be a very big deal to the EU. Now they roll out the Gibraltar issue again. They are worried that Boris will just stick to his guns unlike the previous weak government under May.....

Lots of people. Plenty of people still trying to re-fight the one we've already had. And as I've said, it's done.
Free open democracy nothing is done, not even with your misplaced command.

It may be over for certain age groups, they will go to their graves unhappy or happy. Younger ones can continue to carry their flames for the EU, much like Redwoods Bones and Farages did about getting out.

Dismissing a view or cause out of hand is very authoritarian not really something that really is very acceptable..

I think you will find India is now 5th, and UK 6th, only just ahead of France after the post-Brexit referendum fall of Sterling

70% of UK fishing exports go to the EU, and fishing is far and away the most important industry we have.
