Going to be a rude awakening for some when the realisation dawns that we can't recreate the British Empire. I suspect for the rest they'll just celebrate whatever demands the EU set for the us after the inevitable raft of UK concessions are badged as a huge victory for Johnson.

We are going to leave with a Canada plus deal which will not take ten years as we are already in line with the EU for trade we will be A a independent country not afffiliated to the EU polictical Union it is not back to the British empire days , but we can strike out worldwide individual free trade deals with no interference from the EU - it's going to happpen get used to it as we have no opposition party thanks to corbynism........

So....exactly when does this "Canada +" deal come into effect.....presumably it will have already been planned out by Liz Truss? What benefits will we receive?

All the trade in the world we can get plus save our money up to 12 billion on EU membership per annum .......it will happen this time next year ........

We will pay some monies for projects we are entwined in Bruce but it won't be many many billions plus we will eventually sort out the foreign aid budget to a more sensible level ........not indexed linked......
The trade deal will be tarrif free as they the EU export more to us and we will trade then independently.......
Freedom , and democracy has won.......as it should ......if in ten years it's not working we could always have another referendum........
I doubt it as I can see the Eurozone struggling even more.......

Most notably, the Canadian financial services sector doesn't have access to the single market, which given it's our biggest industry, might present something of a problem, no?

Canadian products are also subject to border checks before entering the single market, which we were promised would never happen, not least due to the Good Friday agreement. Has there been any sensible solution to this problem yet?

I'm well aware of the results of the referendum and subsequent elections Joe, I simply asked you fairly straightforward questions on what the scenario you desire would look like. Given the service driven nature of our economy I would have loved your insight into that, but as you mentioned the border, how do you see customs checks being performed at UK ports? Which ports are equipped to do so? How will rules of origin be determined on goods coming in and out of the country?
