Probably were, but the 2019 Election was the decisive in relation to Brexit.

Racism rising since Brexit vote, nationwide study reveals

Has the penny dropped yet?

I’m still waiting for these facts; but bolding it and increasing font size does not prove any point, just makes you look immature and somebody who cannot debate. Instead, would rather shout, scream and stamp their feet like a petulant child.

And I know your struggling to digest this, but i haven’t argued that Brexit hasn’t brought out some racists

What I’m arguing is your abhorrent comment, without evidence or facts, and showing signs of total lack of intellectual maturity, that all people who voted conservative are now racist and thick.

I’m happy to be proven wrong, once you provide me with actual figures and data to back this claim up

Indeed, massively different from being a racist. I’m very conservative over crime, but does that now put me into the racist crew?? If so my bird is going to be shocked

We've had this discussion in the past (the royal we) and legally, distinguishing someone based upon their nationality is racist. That's precisely what immigration restrictions do. They treat foreigners differently to natives based solely on their nationality.

Morally, that's wrong, and if you or I did it we'd rightly fall foul of discrimination legislation. States should operate to even firmer standards than us.

My gawd you're incredible, I simply copied and paste the headlines with the links. If this says to that I'm some how immature shows the level of stupidity in your mindset.

So far you haven't provided not one real evidence to support your case.

Looking at London where parts of it, such as Dagenham and Bexley, have voted for BNP in the past has ended up as Leave areas. Sounds as though you don't have the intellectual capability to keep up with this debate.

There is quite clear evidence to state that Conservative vote increased in constituencies with fewer graduates.

I'd say that's true, but it risks getting close to being condescending in a "We're better educated than them" kind of way ( I'm not saying that's what you're personally thinking btw, it's a general statement ) and, while they might not be as well educated as city folk from London, they're not thick, and know when they're being talked down to ( at best ), or ignored at worse.

Instead of blaming less well educated people in Northern towns, it would make more sense to work out why the level of graduates in these places is lower than the cities.

The answers to that are numerous, but, when younger, educated people have to leave those those towns to find decent jobs in the cities, you have to question the policies of all goverments over the last 30 years or so, which have effectively encouraged the migration of people to cities. That's left behind a disenfranchised population who, at least from their perspective, believe the EC does nothing for them, and the party which they'd traditionally vote for, does next to nothing for them as well.

I see again your using the BNP voting intentions to back up this claim whilst ignoring the 2017 results.

Like I said, intellectually immature.

Anyway, I do not need to provide anything, you made the statement hence you provide the evidence. But we know you can’t, so let’s end this charade now and you can go and do some actual research.

I think you make some important points.

The thought would surely follow, would it not, that those areas now being branded racist by some quarters, would've previously voted Labour.

I don't think they'll have suddenly become racist in the last three years...

A large minority of the population have some degree of racism or xenophobia as part of their make up - Labour and Tory alike. Changing those attitudes isn't going to happen by people ( mostly in or around the party ) labelling working class people as thick, racist, naive and ignoring the reasons why those racist and xenophobic attitudes still exist.

What we're doing now is taking a peak under the veneer, and not liking what we see, but you're right, those attitudes aren't new. How do we change those attitudes in the next generation ? Honest answer is I don't know, but unless things improve for people in those towns, and the party manage to find a way to talk to them, then the attitudes won't change.
