Not a huge number - 4 or 5 who I deal with in business.

ask them what they think about the following EU laws which they have to adhere to, and how the current/future extra work & costs associated with them counterbalance the 'benefits'.

- europäischen Verpackungsrichtlinie 94/62/EG (aka german interpretation resulting in Verpackungsgesetz).
- Datenschutz-Grundverordnung
- Green New Deal

laws that are created by the EU which nation state folk have to adhere to. i.e. not laws created by their elected governments.

You know the EU is made up of representatives of each of the member states, dont you?

And that none of those states, unlike in the USSR, is held in the EU against their will?

for the forth (!) time, my point is many german folk worry the EU is becoming like the USSR in terms of gaining control over the nation states. i've given specific examples as to how this worry may be justified.

that clearly doesn't mean EU tanks are presently rolling in ...jaysus lol

and to make it a seriously-valuable conversation, ask them if they think the advertised benefits of those laws mask the actual intentions behind them, and what they think those actual intentions are.
