Has anybody actually described what Brexit actually is?

That's the absurdity of the situation isn't it? We're three years on from the vote, under three different prime ministers, and still have absolutely no clue what Brexit is, or how it is supposed to benefit the country. People like @Old Blue 2 said that they didn't vote for a particular type of Brexit (which I've always found absurd), but I find it utterly unconscionable that we're so far down the road now and still none the wiser at all about the benefits of Brexit other than the ridiculous platitudes about sovereignty that were uttered during the campaign itself.

Thank you sincerely for once again stating something about me that I did not say. A long time ago I stated, several thousand pages back, my reasoning for arriving at the decision I did with regard to which way I voted. And as a result was attacked by many remainers, yourself included, with insults, etc..

As a Mod, you really are some kind of beaut!

I could have sworn you said repeatedly that you were quite happy for none of the people agitating to leave the EU to have any concrete thoughts or 'manifesto' as to how they should do so, even though many of them were in government at the time and in a perfect place to know the full implications of doing so. Did you not say that?

ps, thanks for the personal remark, but flattery won't get you anywhere.

You kind of did tbf

Have to say, Bruce, you also do not understand the difference between 'campaign' and 'implementation'. It is not incumbent upon those who campaigned for the UK to leave the EU to come up with the minutiae of how it was to be/would be implemented. They can come up with the reasons why they believe the UK should leave, but it is not, and never was, within their ambit to say/dictate how the leaving process should be carried out. The one (campaign) is quite separate from the other (implementation), and so it should be.

@Old Blue 2 seemed to think they had a plan behind closed doors too, can he at least admit this wasn't the case?

Two things:
Nobody, but nobody, in the Government is going to show their hand completely at this stage, and it is foolish to believe that they would.
In business (as I believe in matters such as this in politics) there is such a thing as 'Commercial-In Confidence', which simply means that the content of a particular subject cannot be publicly disclosed. This would obviously apply to any prepatory work inside Government for the leaving of the EU, and also the ongoing discussions and then negotiations.

Do you REALLY think that everything is going to be publicly disclosed, almost on a daily basis?

This is what I can’t get my head around. I don’t know what the parameters for leave voters are. What’s an ideal deal? Surely that varies from voter to voter?

there is no fixed Brexit, there never was, there never will be. It's in a lot of peoples interest to watch the UK and EU consume it's self with this.
Russian oligarchs and the Russian government easily co-opted opportunistic fringe politicians, they used their own social media influence as well as cash to drive a wedge in western society. It worked in both the UK and US.
The tactic was the exact same in both places. Prey on nationalist sentiment to drive a split in society.
I reckon they never in their wildest dreams believed it would be so successful.
