We've not had 2 successive quarters of contraction - yet.

But all the signs are that we are entering recession yes.

Barclays said the purchasing manager survey suggested Britain would enter a recession, contracting by 0.4 percent quarter on quarter at the end of September and by 0.3 percent in the fourth quarter.

So we are not in recession, and yet we have had recessions before anyone even coined the word Brexit.......

So that's a no then........

No it's not, it's a go back and read through what I've posted.

I have been through what you have posted and you make some good points at times but I'm not going to demand you repost everything again for me. It's there if you want it.

We can't officially call it a recession as we need 2 Qtrs of data to prove it's already happened....

We've had plenty of downturns in the past, but they're generally not self inflicted when the economy was doing well comparative to our peers.....

We are in recession however the technical definition is 2 quarters of reduced economic activity measured by GDP. It is a backward looking measure.

The question is how long we will be in recession and how deep will it be, not whether or not there is a recession.

Says the Clinton supporter who said that all Brexit supporters didn't understand what they were voting for.....

More guff. Did I actually say ALL? Or did I point out that the vote was won through lies? 40% of Brexiters believed that the EU money would be going to the NHS.

That bus was a very effective way of swaying the vote.

There are many pro's and con's to leaving the EU....we already know and understand them for being in it but are just beginning to know and understand them for being out of it. The debate from both sides should have been far better informed before now, but we are where we are.

The crux of the problem with this referendum and why it should not have been a question for the people... If we are only just beginning to understand the pro's on con's of being out of the EU - how on earth could people be expected to vote either way.

Vote to get out as it might be better, probably... maybe. It's essentially a crapshoot that a morally corrupt tory government has foisted on us all.

Cheers Dave.
