But that's it. It was only temporarily blocked, if they'd won the main vote they could've got it done with a short delay couldn't they? Did they lose faith that they had the numbers?
The opposition blocked the deal going through today. The tories would have loved it to have gone through... they didn’t reckon on people actually wanting to read the details in depth before voting

meanwhile:

Boris Johnson has confirmed in a phone call with the European council president Donald Tusk that he is sending a letter requesting a further Brexit delay beyond 31 October.

Despite the prime minister’s insistence that he will not “negotiate” a further extension of the UK’s membership of the EU, he confirmed on Saturday evening that he would be seeking such an extension.

“Waiting for the letter,” Tusk tweeted. “I just talked to PM Boris Johnson about the situation after the vote in the House of Commons.”

An EU source said that in the call between Tusk and Johnson at 8.15pm Brussels time on Saturday evening the prime minister confirmed that the letter would be sent within hours.

Ha Ha.

Just read the letter he sent. FFS, what a man-child. He's like....

They may have sold out the DUP, but they haven't sold out NI as the DUP are trying to claim. All the other parties in NI (who represent the majority of people) are cautiously supportive of the NI element of this deal, but their first preference is still that the whole thing is stopped via either an election or a referendum or both.
This completely.

The DUP are not representative of NI.
