Wrong again. Brexit was agreed 2 years ago before it the DUP made a phone call to Teresa May and threatened to bring her government down if she went ahead with it. If you want to blame anyone for stopping it cast your anger at them and the ERG group that supported them.

Wish it had been the 'end of'.

Excellent report below from Tony Connelly (an Irish journalist who's covered every aspect of the Brexit negotiations) on how we got to the Thornton House meeting between Johnson and Varadkar and what's happened since. The nuts and bolts of the possible new customs arrangement are explained for idiots like me. It's basically back to the future for Johnson, who's having to pick up the ideas of the May Deal on aligning two trading blocs, but applying it solely to NI rather than the whole of the UK.

Yes, he is RTE's Europe correspondent with excellent contacts at the heart of the EU, so if anything happens he gets to know about it before anyone else does.

It was rather odd to launch into the post when all I did was provide him with information he's been asking for all morning. A simple thank you should've been in order. Instead a hurtful and unnecessary slur against me. I'm big enough to take it, but it's the effect on my anorak I'm most concerned about. (n)
Well having read many of your posts (particularly to Joey66) I thought I would get my retaliation in first. lol

Makes no difference as the Isle of Man is not in the EU :D
But "the Island has a special and limited relationship with the EU, under an agreement (‘Protocol 3’) negotiated when the UK joined Europe in 1973, allowing free trade in agricultural and manufactured products between the Isle of Man and EU members. Apart from matters relating to this agreement, including Customs, the Island is not bound by EU laws and it pays nothing to, and receives nothing from, EU funds." https://www.gov.im/about-the-government/departments/cabinet-office/external-relations/constitution/
