Ireland cannot agree to Johnson's plans - Ireland's deputy premier

The magic deal that Johnson has been cooking up for weeks in secret and ran a ticket on to become PM has been shot down within a day, impressive even by his standards

He knew it would be. Its all part of the plan. They'll blame the EU (and Ireland) and they'll ram that down everyones throats in the run up to an election. They already have a catchy slogan. People will inevitably fall for all this and Boris will be elected on a no deal ticket resulting in a no deal brexit in Jan.

He served this up and knew it'd be rejected.

What a master strategist Cummings is. What a sophisticated plan. *Clever*.

They were never going to given what is proposed.

My favourite thing about Johnson's proposal is the title 'A fair and reasonable compromise'. Alarm bells should always sound when a document as critical as this is presented in those terms. It's blatantly playing to a domestic audience.

When it's rejected I hope he has another go and titles it 'Bojo's awesome, really great, you'd be mad not to accept this, deal of the century, super duper UK proposal,

What ever happened to "We'll solve it with technology'? They loved spewing that particular soundbite without telling anyone what they meant.

So what's next?

This turd burger of a deal is getting knocked back, as we all know. What should happen is a VONC happens and we get this clown out to secure that extension. That's what should happen, if the LibDems weren't the unscrupulous bunch of no marks that they are, led by Austerity Queen Swinson. A 'revered parliamentarian' as an interim PM isn't getting a look in either.

Where are we here now? As far as I can make out, when that 'deal' is officially dead the belief amongst the opposition is that the courts will enforce the Benn Act. Hmmm.

You’d think so. Then Johnson is going to portray himself as the man of the people who was thwarted by the remoaner establishment.

I think the mood music from across the channel is slightly positive. There is a kernal of a fudge re the border in the proposal, as far as I can tell anyrate, but I guess it will come down to if Johnson is genuine, (I doubt), and is being played, (which I think he is).

In summary, will, or can the EU call his bluff.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to think another court are going to stop this clown in his tracks.

Labour need to pull the pin on a VONC and force the LDs to not back Corbyn. If the LDs dont back him they'll pay for that lack of urgency on no deal at the ballot.

Nah, two days more to hand the clown ammendments to his deal and then he rejects it. That's the choreography, IMO.

I think you are correct. That is what his backers want. But will the EU spike his guns?
If they agreed to his plan Johnson would piss his clown suit.

Unfortunately it'll never happen.

The EU have to hope that a VONC is passed and a new referendum or election comes and transforms the situation. IMO.

It would be more correct to say that the mood music from across the channel as reported over here is slightly positive. Over there (or in the Republic) it is a fairly consistent "this is not good enough".
