....Arlene Foster on her way to Downing St for talks. Suggestion is Boris Johnson might tell her that he’ll have to give way on the Irish Border to get a deal and leave at the end of October.

If so, I await with interest @Joey66 critiquing the orangemen and their intransigence later on today.

....I don’t think there’s any doubt the DUP will scream and shout if Johnson gives up on them. He might think a separate customs arrangement for NI is a price worth paying to save his embarrassment of crawling to Brussels for an extension to Article 50.

Conservative and ‘Unionist’ Party in all but name perhaps.

I think with a country divided, a Parliament all over the gaff, a no deal on the table to show we mean business is just be a hollow threat, and I'm baffled why Brexiters can't now see this. At the end of the day the EU have literally got us by the balls.
They always had ,but they were just cupping them gently.

Johnson's has boxed himself in with the 'die in a ditch' statement on an extension.

He has to cobble something together by way of a deal and an all Ireland backstop would do it...or at least it'd be something that could be sold as a deal even if rejected by parliament.
