My too much Google in there for me Bruce;)
Alls I know is my late mother going mad about the loss of the commonwealth trade!
I have to admit decimalisation was another con to push prices up!

I had some religious types on the doorstep this morning trying to convince me that planes were kept in the air because of God. Bet there's no Googling in their household.

Fair point Bruce ;)
Slipped up though if you had googled those religious kinds knocking on your door it would maybe warn you to wedge your foot in the door, so you could avoid themlol

As I stated earlier that vote had no place being a simple majority. It had to be a super majority.

There is no democracy in a vote that was hinged on lies and scare mongering. The common man simply doesn't have the depth of knowledge to make an informed decision.

What you are calling democracy is a farce of the term. Blatant lies should never win the day.

At best for the Leave side this vote should have spurred policy to prepare for a strategic exit if that is what you all really wanted.

Your country simply isn't prepared for it and will suffer for it's short-sightedness. Hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

We'll be Ok thanks....as for super majorities.....

"Referring to the wording of the petition, which asks for a second vote to be held because the vote to leave did not surpass 60% of the vote and the turnout was less than 75%, the government response states that the European Union Referendum Act did not include rules about minimum turnout.

The statement said: “The act was scrutinised and debated in parliament during its passage and agreed by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The act set out the terms under which the referendum would take place, including provisions for setting the date, franchise and the question that would appear on the ballot paper. The act did not set a threshold for the result or for minimum turnout.

“The prime minister and government have been clear that this was a once in a generation vote and, as the prime minister has said, the decision must be respected. We must now prepare for the process to exit the EU and the government is committed to ensuring the best possible outcome for the British people in the negotiations.”

The rules were agreed and voted on and the majority vote was to Leave....it may not be democracy as you view it, but it works for us.......I imagine a few porkies were told while winding up the local populace during 1775.......

Funny how you get off my lawn types are suddenly OK with lies and deceit winning the day since it served your backwards agenda

What are these 'get off my lawn' types that you keep referring to........and why is a vote for Independence a backward agenda........and if you want to talk about lies then the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman" that you all lapped up has to be near the top......

Look it up.

Backwards in that you view this percieved independence as a good thing when nobody on your side can see the massive benefit your economy gained by being part of the second largest economy in the world.

That lie you reference did not shape the future of the world. Your agenda driven vote was a farce of democracy. Your country is not prepared for it. The devaluation of the Pound is just the beginning. You say "we'll be OK, thanks"...eventually that is probably true...but it will be painful along the way.

It might be more painful along the line when the Euro eventually implodes as reported Italy will is not far of asking for a or bail out yet again!

As the former second largest member of that collective economy your exit certainly does put the EU's stability in question. Which is not good.

If the EU were to completely collapse Germany will gain only more power in Europe.

Btw, many people who voted for this don't even have a lawn.

We all see the financial benefit of being in the EU.......we just want to control our own destiny if that ok with you....

Clintons lie demonstrated that the POTUS could not be trusted and that his wife was a fool....she also appears to treat national security as something other people should do......

Our country was not prepared for WW2 either but we muddled through......

The pound will reach whatever level it needs...currently our export and tourist trade is booming.....

We know it may be painful, but still 17,5Million people voted for it, and should tell you everything you need to know about our country......

Oh, you didn't refer to the Independence bit I mentioned, are you in favour or not......
