Not on that chart?
TBF the whole contribution Eu rebates are a farce, why pay in 18 billion and get 5 billion back ?
Ludricous IMO the reasons why people voted out!

The £1.5 billion to the private sector and universities for research is in the article the chart comes from. The last bit I put is from the UK treasury.

Gove and Johnson promised to honour all the EU contributions to the UK. They have said they would spend at least £100 million per week = £5.2 billion. So technically the UK will have £1.5 billion more to spend.

You referencing Cameron's leaflet to every household that cost £9 million of taxpayers' money again, biz? :p

I've got the Leave campaigns '£350 million per week' leaflet right here. The one they admitted was untrue after the fact.

I am saying, and it's very clear to almost every economist I know, that the contribution in cash terms the UK makes to EU is returned multiple times in terms of economic activity.

The movement of capital around the EU, the expenditure for example on infra-structure generates much more than the cost of the investment. It is clear to all that having that stimulus removed from the economy both in the UK and EU is damaging for both parties.

Leaving the EU is economic madness.

Enough of this figure waving makes no difference now. Yes, I voted out but principally I did not like the way the EU was going. It would have ended up exercising even greater control of our country in all matters than it does now.

Unfortunately if the EU had given Cameron that bit more room in the negotiations a few month back instead of screwing him to the floor it is quite likely that the remain vote would have come out with a majority.

Right chaps, I'm off for an hour or two from this thread. I enjoy coming into it every night and taking part (and making the odd balls-up as well!!!)

I've just got a rather big wodge of paperwork through to go over ahead of Feelgood's arrival on Thursday daytime.

As the big man said: I'll be back!

Well we will be 9 billion better of to fund them then!

Well, from the independent source I quoted earlier, it was 250 million GROSS. And as I have posted previously, Only a fool would not realise that there is a sum of money that comes back our way. Which the independent source acknowledges...
