Hang on mate, have I got this right, you are an English man who spends a lot of time as a migrant in a different coutry with a Malaysian wife who's blaming immigrants for a breakdown in UK society?!

Largely, yes!

There are other factors. I don't necessarily blame the immigrants as such, rather Merkel and the EU's stupid policy of encouraging them.

If I can live as an expat or temporary immigrant in 3 different countries for 23 years, not get so much as a parking violation and have continued residency rights tied to continued employment and have to provide PHI for any family members I want to live with me, does it not seem reasonable to expect the same standards (which I fully approve of) in other countries - including my own!

Or are you suggesting we should provide everything to immigrants for free at the expense of our own citizens.

No.

Repeat it please.
Away from that, and regarding our Everton credentials, I welcome any blue at any point, regardless of nationality, colour etc etc. Having said that, you as a blue for 50 years must have a degree of sympathy, politics aside, for our (scouse) view of Johnson as being extremely wary of a lying, misinformed, lazy laughing stock of a man. How do you trust him? If your other mate Corbyn had anything like that kind of form then your mates in the Telegraph, Times, etc etc would have crucified him by now. That's why I call them hypocrites. If you and them are prepared to go in hard on Jezza now when he's nowhere near power, what would you be like if he ascended (if that's the real word these days given the clowns in there now) to number 10? I hope you apply the same standards to Johnson that you do to Corbyn now.

There you are.....

Hey @RichardP, I asked you a question a while back, shortly before your bizarre suggestion regarding a vote for the population of Ulster on joining a united Ireland.
Can you go back to my question please?

No, early night ahead of early call for a flight to Myanmar tomorrow.

Repeat the question and I will see if I can answer tomorrow evening.

I thought I had answered. Apologies.

I hold Johnson to the standards I expect of a UK PM. I was one of May's fiercest critics and was glad to see her go, not just because of brexit.

I hold Corbyn to the standards I expect of the leader of Her Majesty's opposition.

Johnson has been in the job 5 minutes and is doing a fairly good job imo.

Corbyn has been leader of the PLP for years and still doesn't know his own position on most policy matters.

I do understand the scouse inbred enmity towards anything tory but there comes a time when we all have to realise that it is time to move on. Doesn't mean we have to hold hands together and sing cumbaya around the camp fire but it might be time to stop the enmity.

It is only my gut feeling but I do think Johnson may pleasantly surprise a few with a left of centre view on life.

No tory leader will ever (or would want to) satisfy the hard left.

Hope that helps.

Goodnight.

I wrote a longer reply but it saddens me that someone who should know better cant see how daft they're sounding.
The UK had a veto every step of the way. Blaming Merkel is a cop out.
EU immigrants have broken no laws and are subject to the same laws as UK citizens. To blame them for societal woes, especially when you yourself are an immigrant, is the height of hypocritical nonsense.
Grow up man, grow a backbone and take responsibility for where the UK is at, You had a vote and you elected the people who put you where you are.

Even the uber left leaning BBC is slowly shifting its position. The following article is hardly the BBC endorsing brexit but such a semi balanced article from the Brussels Broadcasting Corporation would have been unthinkable only a month or so ago.

'uber left leaning' about the BBC's news and current affairs output is quite the statement.

More fluffy nonsense that didn't really help to answer the hypocrisy issues that bedevil Johnson admirers. Placing faith in a proven liar who was legendarily bad as the Foreign Secretary shows how pathetic we are as a country. More pork pies as well whilst at G7 with his master, the biggest gombeen man of them all, Trump.
Enjoy your sleep and enjoy your flight.

Grow up man, grow a backbone and take responsibility for where the UK is at, You had a vote and you elected the people who put you where you are.

Actually, let me take you step by step through where you are wrong.

First, I didn't have a vote. After 15 years as an expat, one is disenfranchised.

Second, I made it clear that I blame the decision to encourage immigrants rather than the immigrants themselve for most of society's ills. Idiots like the Mayor of Londonstan or the nutter who became Mayor of Sheffield don't help. But there is an element of truth in the saying that society gets the government it deserves.

Third, I am not talking just about EU immigrants, but all immigrants.

Fourth. I believe I am grown up. My employer sees fit to allow me to carry $1.5 billion of Public Liability Insurance whenever I sign for an aircraft with around 400 people on board. All sorts of personality and psych tests have to be passed before getting to sit up front of an airliner.

I could write a longer reply but the point is made.
