Of course there were lots of other countries who didn’t stand up for this anthem, but hey ho......

Meanwhile we have seen yet another France/German stitch up o& the top jobs with even Spain thrown a bone. Expect the new head of the foreign office to immediately raise the issue of Gibraltar.....nothing ever changes in the EU, stitch up after stitch up. Lagarde isn’t even a member of the parliament or had anyone vote for her.....truly brazen act by the French......but once we are out let them get on with it......
The sooner the UK gives Gibralter back to Spain, the better.
Same applies to the Channel Islands - Give them back to France - Les Ducs de Normandie are a long time gone.

Even Spain...it's an absolute outrage.

They should remember that their place is bringing me Sangria while I tell them tales of how successful I was running my own business and nodding obidiently to interesting anecdotes about my golfing exploits.

No Bruce, I expected a stitch up and that’s what we got. Incidentally how many of them were voted in as MEP’s......
As reported in the press -

"After three days of tortuous negotiations, Germany’s defence minister, Ursula von der Leyen, received the support of heads of state and government to replace Jean-Claude Juncker as president of the commission in Brussels.
Von der Leyen, 60, who speaks fluent English and French and studied at the London School of Economics before taking a medical degree, is now the European commission president designate. She will only formally become the first female head of the EU’s executive branch if she wins the support of a majority of MEPs. "

What's the stitch up about that? Voted in by democratically elected heads of state and parliamentary representatives.

Of course UK would be left out of this as our head of state does not involve herself in such matters and of course our head of government is not democratically elected, but rather selected by a tiny group of polical extremists. Now that is a stitch-up!

Why on earth would anyone want to copy Nazi party members did in the German parliament in the 1930s. Don't turn up don't stand maybe cover your face with a Nigel Farage picture, but to copy the most devastating fascist movement is very odd.

Those poor D Day veterans and all others who died fighting and innocent lost because of Nazism, surely their legacy has not been forgotten so soon after Mays celebrations of remeberence.

Best ask one of the 'Grand Wizards'?

Very similar to our civil service, I would go as far to say its equal. MEPs will consult Commission, MPs consult Civil service, not sure what the big issue is!?

Because Juncker is not the equivalent head of our civil service. He is the face of the EU responsible for initiating laws, not introducing laws at the behest of elected cabinet ministers. Anyway if you truly believe that what the Europeans are doing even though the EU Parliament is upset about this process, then fine. It’s democracy Jim, but not as we know it.....

Give them all a referendum and let them decide. I think it's particularly appropriate in respect to Gibraltar who voted 96% to remain with an incredible turnout of 86%.

If we do in fact get around to leaving the EU, I would give all of them the opportunity to vote, either on independence, or repatriation if that's their preference. Gibralatar, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and even Wales. I'd do the same with the Channel Islands given that they weren't given an opportunity to have their say on Brexit first time around.

I would not, ever, enter into negotiations on repatriating any of those countries/provinces without first obtaining the majority support of the people. That's paramount.

Personally, I believe the process will only serve to make those communities as divided as the UK has become. But it is only fair that they get the opportunity to have their say.

I think you're being a bit unfair to the Liberals here. I wouldn't call them extremists.

But I suppose as there hasn't been a Liberal PM for nearly a 100 years it's a mute point.

He is the face of the EU Commission and just appeared by EU stork did he? as with all Brexiteer lose on detail when it matters, sigh!

Jeez, you'll be wanting to give The Falklands back to the Argies next...despite the vast majority of three lots of residents want to stay British.

It’s hard to give something back which never belonged to them in the first place....
