It's a spoof and all, but still..

I prefer Aldi myself, the customers in there tend to use the long bench for its proper purpose, to pack shopping. Not like Lidl with little Brexiteers that run up and down on said bench while their legal guardians back the bags at the till, its terrible this Anglicism of once fine European shopping experience.

The leavers brightest and best there, 3 years in and I'm still waiting for anyone to speak in depth on the benefits of leaving

Delingpole avoided the question "Did you explain to people during the referendum campaign that 'we'd take a hit' "?

Trouble is, many brexiteers think that the "hit" will affect other people, so it's no problem for them.

‘We’re going to take a hit’ I imagine any ‘hit’ is not going to affect him a great deal.

That's the issue with Brexit as a whole, it is being led by people who all bought property when it was 400% cheaper and have or heading into retirement. They have been able to convince the people at the other end of the scale who have nothing that their troubles have been caused by the EU so they can roll the dice.

Anyone who doesn't fall into one of those categories just gets shafted.

That is, in my opinion, a very precise summary of the whole mess.

without Brexit house prices are ridiculously high...... they were supposed to drop if we dared to vote out another mess Gideon made worrying thing he is supporting Boris how I hate Gideon and Cameron.......

You have kinda agreed with us both there mate.

House prices have risen because of programmes on TV like homes under the hammer etc where people were encouraged to buy houses at auction for rent , and have a big housing portfolio - this imo was never around to a big thing in the 1970's - the tax is slack on these landlords imo and the government wonder why there is a shortage?
also Magies council sale at 50 % discount has contributed to it too.....
Now they are selling housing trust houses flat off..... on a same basis , and the Help to buy scheme has also been abused in the rich favour.....

You are right that house prices have risen cos there aint enough of them. You boasted a while ago that yours was worth £1/4 million a while back. I assume you are happy for it to be worth half of that instead?

Strangely enough, I have a house that’s worth a great deal more, and other property worth a fair amount. If it was suggested that all property had the last £ zero removed, I would vote for it even though I would take a big financial hit. I don’t want people paying extortionate amounts of silly money for what in essence is some bricks and mortar. I didn’t want to pay the extortionate mortgages that I paid off and I would not wish them on anyone. The housing market is a drain on ordinary people for no good reason, other than those trying to make money from the London housing market......

I was joking typically, but I have owned 3 houses in my life in the 1980s negative equity was a scare - how I lucky aisit buying a house with hard work doing them up is a great thing an asset to leave to your children even that is not guaranteed now with healthwise as the social care is in melt down my little wealth.
I have had it's not luck - just hard work and the ability to move around the UK to better myself - luck does play a little part sometimes it's fate with the drive a person has, but you have to work hard to make that luck , also why anything I post even agreeing with you - you rebound back at me always in a negative way?
owning a house is always paper money as if I wanted a house like mine in an area I live the only way I would gain would be if I downsized, and moved to a less desirable area....- so what's the point of that?
