Had a chat with a lad who studies law and has a family who runs a farm. It was quite the eye opener to be honest. OTT EU regulations and subsidies going to the wrong people made it sound like a nightmare.

It certainly opened my eyes a bit.
Are you sure it's not ott application of eu policy by Westminster?

Haha I see what you have done there.

It is all part and parcel. The banking crash, the austerity measures, the feeling of hopelessness, struggle of being able to buy and afford your own home, the greed of the bankers and fat cats, the lurch to opposing political divisions, the rise of the nationalists, the divisive nature of Brexit, the lying politicians, never ending elections, the feeling of not being listened to whether leaver or remain.

This is how wars start.

You are right of course, it is the myriad of events that give cause and effect, and it is a shame that Remainers have fought this running rearguard action instead of embracing Brexit and moulding it accordingly. We have been split as a nation and we will never start the process of rebuild until we follow through on the vote and leave this damned EU behind us......

Very amusing when Brexiteers who support the likes of Farage and Johnson evoke ideas of rebuilding and unity.

Sorry I didn't reply to you earlier Pete, was in a meeting. What would you attribute the rise in race-related crimes to?

Racists I imagine. But in terms of the numbers reported others have suggested it was Police cuts or even the way crimes are defined, reported and counted....as with many of these things there will be many factors, but stating ‘Brexit’ is the lazy way out....

Do you think Brexit has been co-opted by those on the far right?

I think Remainers are doing everything they can to demonise it......

It's been hard not to when May went all 'citizens of nowhere' and Johnson was 'bollo** to business'. You've hinted here various times that you would like Brexit to open Britain up even more than it currently, is, but that narrative hasn't been the one told by those negotiating Brexit whatsoever, which is sad, as had you asked me 4 years ago I would probably have said Johnson shares your outlook, but he's shown himself to be so duplicitous in the intervening period that I no longer believe a word he says. Power mad.
