So what? Once upon a time slavery was commonplace, women were not allowed to vote, children were forced to work. Society advances, but someone has to make the first step. The EU did more to that cause than Brexit will.

Coincidentally I think you can make a legitimate case to argue that notions of Slavery and serfdom are the inception of immigration policy.

how on earth did we cope before the EU??? and why are are they so opposed to us leaving said union.

They are not “opposed” to us leaving.

They may not want us to leave Frank, but they have done nowt to stop us.

It is our side which refuses to recognise the unique situation with the Border in Ireland and stymied a perfectly good deal in December 2017 which would have enabled Great Britain to leave last month without the customs union etc. whilst Northern Ireland enjoyed the best of both worlds.....staying in both the UK and the EU.

That the ERG and the DUP dictated that this fell flat is the reason the whole UK is bound by the Backstop.

Bottom line, Frank.....a Brexit to your liking for Great Britain is available tomorrow morning.

A Brexit for the United Kingdom is a different kettle of bananas, mush.
