It certainly didn't help May's cause. Turned into a massive own goal.

If she didn't think she had sufficient majority to carry off Brexit why invoke article 50?. If nothing else she should have waited until after the election.

Political incompetence of the highest order.
That was my point elected leader in a rush, without a candidate race from the grassroots, if Labour did that......
She is not or never will be leadership material ....hence the mess..,.

Night of the Long Knives in here.
I've been away a week. 150 pages to read or peteblue will get upset. Have we made any progress on here? Have the Leave mob revealed this boss technology for Ireland that would actually free up this impasse? Are certain 'mature' posters still quoting the Second World War? I think I should know.....

Night of the Long Knives in here.

Not just in here. The cabinet have been in a meeting for 8 hours. I would hazard a guess they cant agree on sommet. ]

The shadow cabinet have been meeting for hours as well. Again, one would assume they aint quite sure what they want to do neither.

So, a few days after we should have left, (with a dead easy trade deal and all that), and a few days before we will leave, our democratically elected parliament still havnt delivered on neither of their manifestos. After nearly 3 years of talking about little else.

This observers suggestion would be that what they asked us, and what we directed them to do, simply, aint possible. Not without a reboot of parliament, and/or a second vote. Sadly, neither of those provide any guarantee that the maths nor arguements will change.

So, we either go down the Gemma Collins route, or extend almost indefinately, or junk the whole sorry mess.

It was bizarre, what's more, she decided to press on with A.50 knowing full well that Leave had broken the law and the misinformation that was swirling around.

Pressured into keeping her position, and the promises of others, by the ERG and the DUP.

The General Election was an absolute disaster for her, she was streets ahead in the polls until she asked the electorate to 'get to know her'

It was of recent historical fact there was no reason for her to have faith in polls. It’s amusing they are still so revered. Social media and its trends is barometer from 2017 and beyond.

I'm not mate truly. In fact I'm trying to do the opposite.

I'm on your side Joey as regards the way you're treated in here. I think it's shocking. But I don't want to fall out with you so I'll keep out of it in future.

Im sorry you and joey feel as tho "we" are picking on him. Im sure nobody is doing it out of malice, its just friendly ribbing.

I do realise theres a fine line and clearly @Joey66 feels as tho we have crossed it, but for the record, I like the fella and would welcome him to give it back, but I will try and personally tone it down.

/cancels alehouse remain or leave thread for Joey.
