Do you genuinely still think they are the same thing? Or have you come to the conclusion that you were completely wrong and have now decided that it was because they banned a long used weedkiller rather than one that isn't harmful.

I don't need to look it up. The first "proper" job I had was as a shift chemist at the old ICI Kastner Kellner plant in Runcorn. They took rock salt from Cheshire and electrolised it in a mercury cell to make sodium hydroxide and chlorine. The bit I worked in used the chlorine to react with ethylene to make vinyl chloride monomer.
I notice you've moved on from claiming that sodium chloride and sodium chlorate are the same thing, so I'm pleased some progress seems to have been made.

The EU last year renewed use of the controversial weedkiller for another five years after a yearslong political debate over its safety and impact on the environment. That means Europe will have to wait until the end of 2022 at the earliest before making any attempt to ban the substance outright.
