Small industry with incredibly fine margins make up about 70% of the UK fishing fleet who export about 75% of our catch to EU ports.

Nothing about the trade negotiations have helped these fisherman. Far from it.
No deal brexit I'm on about

*sighs

think you will find most are working in the UK in jobs that they are seen to be over qualified for, much like are own people 43% of under 21 are now in university and will graduatate, unfortunately most will not go on to be employed in what they have qualified for , call centres ect been full of graduates these days.
so they are talking lower skilled people's jobs, because they are the only jobs available in modern day Britain for most people.

That's inevitable to an extent, as many migrants will need time to adjust to the local labour conditions, and perhaps even need to gain accreditation that are accepted locally as they are in their homeland. The data suggests this is particularly problematic with A8 migrants, as things like the maturita are difficult to explain to British employers more used to A-levels. This is one of the things that the integration with the EU should do, and should do better with, as the ability for a lawyer in Poland to be a lawyer in Britain is a fundamental aspect of labour mobility, yet the accreditation is often very different and barriers are presented to practising one's trade.

I can tell you that the majority of the government's no deal preparations only started in January.

Very troubling.

It just shows the disjointed nature of the whole thing, as for years May was prattling on about no deal being better than a bad deal, and yet her government were doing nothing to actually prepare for a no deal scenario. It does lend credence to the notion that she was playing to the gallery with such statements and it's only as her withdrawal agreement failed in parliament and no deal might have happened by accident that the possibility was taken seriously.

Even in conversation I've been involved with about No Deal preparations, much of the information is being kept very quiet to prevent FOI requests, but also it's not being passed locally. Much of the advice and technical notices effectively ask for faith in the government's preparations.

Troubling when you think that local preparations are reliant on the preparations of someone like Chris Grayling.

Well I suppose with EU graduate people you can at least know they have the qualifications, unlike India for example were there is a scandal about thousands of people who have doctors qualifications but have never been doctors
It was a shockingly high number last I read up on it.

This kind of credential integration is one of those things that is rarely included in trade deals, yet is pretty important to the successful flow of people from country to country. It's the kind of thing that makes the work the EU is trying to do so important as they go beyond what trade deals cover. At the moment you have to largely go on reputation, so people might believe in the qualifications of a Harvard, Rotman or HEC grad because they have such good reputations, but they have less knowledge about people from Masaryk university, and much less those with vocational or high school qualifications. Indeed, many lobbying groups attempt to set up licensing restrictions to protect entry for those who wish to practice. That's even been identified as a problem in the US when people move between states and find their certifications and right to practice aren't valid in their new state.

@Bruce Wayne regards forecasts..

Did any of your journals forecast our brexit referendum and that trump would be pres five years ago??

Didnt think so

That’s like saying i’m Not listening to my doctor because Micheal fish didn’t predict a hurricane.

Economists, almost to a man are predicting it’d be disastrous the main one that isn’t is saying it’ll be great but will completely eradicate British farming and manufacturing. Economists don’t really get involved in predicting election results really because it’s not their thing . I’ve no idea how it’ll play out , nobody does but if every expert tells you something would be bad it’s general worth considering their opinion isn’t it ? Otherwise why do we bother with asking anybody’s opinion on anything , may as well not bother with doctors , economists or if you like QS’s (although some of them wouldn’t be missed ) . You need to consider expert opinion , im not saying you have to take it as gospel but if 99% of them say something it strikes me as mad to say “what do they know”
