Common sense tells you this - if migrants want to move to your country to work and live, it's because your country is doing something right.

It's utterly bizarre that we see it as anything else. The problem isn't the EU - it's the failure of the UK to adapt and embrace multiculturalism.

Don't think that's so clear cut. A lot of people migrate to other countries for 'survival' as the outlook in their own lands is full of doom, wether that be through war or policial incompetence.
There are plenty of people in this land who would gladly tell you we aren't doing things 'right', try the aged, disabled, sick, school children, food bank users. That this is attractive to the majority of oncomers says more about the state of their lands than it does about ours tbh.

Whilst largely true, that sidesteps the issue that migrants from the EU, (uncontrolled) are very unlikely to fall into that category. Whilst those that do, (controlled) er, do. Or are more likely to anyrate.

Like the huge Romanian gypsy invasion we were promised?
One of the main reasons we're in this situation is because the media took control of the narrative in the lead up to the referendum, the main reason there was little in tge way of clear reality from both sides.
Most of the 'immigration' stories the media peddle is just clickbait and stirring for the sake of it. If it was such an issue, bring all the ex pats back or take their votes off them, redress the balance.

@Joey66

Not a good start for the Brexit party as the temporary leader resigns . Shock horror over racist tweets

Twitter posts sent from the former Ukip economics spokeswoman's Catherine Blaicklock account said that Islam was a threat to most of society, was "incompatible with liberal democracy" and a submission "mostly to raping men

Mate, I agree with you. I was making the point, badly, that the immigration our Government can control has been painted as an EU thing. Aided by the usual suspects.

Not given it much thought tbh. I may well be wrong, but I dont think there is the same level of discontent with the EU on the continent as there is here.

We’ve been going skiing to the same place in France for a fair few years now and we’ve become good friends with the restaurant owners where we eat, and the French people who we rent the apartment off, they all say that a lot of the French people are pissed off with the EU, which surprised me considering the French seem to be on a good number with the EU.
