We’ve been going skiing to the same place in France for a fair few years now and we’ve become good friends with the restaurant owners where we eat, and the French people who we rent the apartment off, they all say that a lot of the French people are pissed off with the EU, which surprised me considering the French seem to be on a good number with the EU.
If the same populist politicians and journalists repeat enough anti-EU drivel enough times it seeps into the psych.

I always got the impression that the French media etc were overwhelmingly pro - EU. The French people who own the apartment we rent reckon the French get screwed by the EU. As I say, I was surprised with that reaction because I always thought the French get a good deal out of being in the EU.

This is going to be one last desperate public attempt for her deal to be backed otherwise it will be Armageddon.

Depending on which side you are on, Armageddon is either a no deal Brexit or revoking Article 50.

Hope it's the latter.

I think a lot of people have grievances with the EU, just as they have grievances with their own governments, this doesn't mean they want out of the single market and a removal of the mechanism that has kept peace in western Europe for nearly 70 years.

Oh I agree mate, the French people we’re friendly with never once mentioned about wanting to leave the EU, just that there is a lot of pissed off French people.

I won’t repeat what those friends had to say about Macron though, it wouldn’t get through the filter!
