she wants changes to the backstop.
the backstop which was suggested by the UK in the first place?

“Mr Varadkar was addressing the Dáil in December 2017 after UK politics had gone, in his words, “somewhat pear shaped”. He told the Irish parliament that he wanted a backstop plan to guarantee no hard border would return to the island of Ireland, whatever happens to UK-EU relations after Brexit. But even in such a vague form, the idea had brought Brexit talks, and Theresa May’s minority government in Westminster, to the brink of collapse. Within a few days a messy compromise was found, where Britain first agreed to the principle of a backstop.”.....

It was not suggested by the U.K......

This is a wonderful post:

Stating a belief, only to be factually corrected, then dismiss it as not relevant and then blame someone else for the problems of your own creation.

All the while stating your own position as if it is inclusive of a wider consensus.

People can trade with the UK already Pete. We don't have a trade deal with America or China, yet trade between companies still happens. It's about making that trade easier, isn't it? As it is, you seem to be overlooking the fact that we are primarily a service-based economy, and in such an economy regulatory alignment is usually the main factor, and so there will inevitably be cooperation with others to produce that alignment, which in Brexit terms is being ruled by unelected bureaucrats. It's a fundamentally juvenile way of thinking in a glogalised world.

Trade is indeed about making it easier. The EU tariffs, insisted by the EU and protectionist in nature, do not make trade easier and positively discriminate against poorer countries wishing to export agricultural goods to the EU....

Firstly: Where in that paragraph does it say it was his idea?

Secondly: TM decided to enact A50 without thinking about the border between UK and Ireland, then a backstop was proposed which will only be enacted if no other solution is found. It's part of the withdrawal agreement, so clearly both sides in the negotiations felt it was necessary. The onus is on the leaver in this instance to find a solution because the EU are simply maintaining the position.

Of which we are a member and were described by Theresa May in her Grimsby speech earlier as 'leading the way in the EU'

As in much lower quality, chlorine injected, hormone pumped goods. Produced using low paid poorly treated often migrant workers, with little or no protection from employer abuse.

Did you make all this up yourself or get it off Twitter.

It’s Chlorine washed not chlorine injected, and chlorine washed goods are safe, just like the chlorine washed bagged salads that you eat. In 2005 the European Food Safety Authority said that “exposure to chlorite residues arising from treated poultry carcasses would be of no safety concern”.

The U.K. has poorly paid, often migrant workers on its farms.

The double standards applied to keep French agriculture thriving is unbelievable.....
