Meanwhile, the EU are launching a couple of programs to help manufacturing in Europe. Various initiatives around Europe - none in Britain. Another nice Brexit bonus. It's not like we need a decent manufacturing sector in Britain or anything.

Worrying statement this morning from Tom Enders (Chief Exec of Airbus)

Airbus boss blasts government and Brexiteers in warning

"Please don't listen to the Brexiteers' madness which asserts that because we have huge plants here, we will not move and we will always be here.

"Brexit is threatening to destroy a century of development based on education, research and human capital," he said in a video. "If there's a no-deal Brexit, we at Airbus will have to make potentially very harmful decisions for the UK."

He added: "In a global economy, the UK no longer has the capability to go it alone. Major aerospace projects are multi-national affairs.

"It is a disgrace that more than two years after the result of the 2016 referendum, businesses are still unable to plan properly for the future. And we, along with many of our peers, have repeatedly called for clarity. But, we still have no idea what is really going on here."

Airbus employ 13000 staff across two sites in the UK, Filton (near Bristol) and Broughton (near Chester)

First reply on twitter , “scaremongering “

Not an unexpected response though from the unwashed brexiteer masses. Tom Enders is the Chief Exec of a massive global company that has its headquarters in the UK. His job is to plan and realise growth and strategy for Airbus, therefore he has to think very carefully about anything he says publically about the Company's future plans.

For him to come out and make those remarks is a massive clear indicator that Airbus will move a major part of their business out of the UK. Not scaremongering at all - hes responsible for the growth and future of that Company.
