I think this is where @peteblue comes in and says how Brexit will actually help universities, and @Joey66 tells us how thankful he is for new information and that his views have been updated accordingly
Great scrap the number of Universities , and make them competitive and use the funds for technical colleges and fetch city & guilds training back..... Have you seen the bill for universities unsustainable loans that are not being paid back.......

You get that people disagree with you though mate and are prepared to argue their point , the odds I grew up the same as you I’m not some posh boy who went to public school . I do though think a no deal Brexit is a potential disaster for the country, almost certainly not for me because of my current financial position but for the country as a whole so I’m concerned. I’m not the kind of person that thinks ah sod everyone else I’ll be ok , so why wouldn’t I want to discuss or argue the positions as I see them ? I deffo try not to speak down to people and some posters here on both sides engage and debate , it’s nobodys fault if more seem to be remain rather than leave .
We are not disagreeing with the democratic vote to Leave - you and Bruce's merrymen are......

So a sector that generates around £10bn a year in exports is now one you want to shrink? @peteblue I don't think your fellow leaver has got the memo about this supposedly leading to a global Britain that trades with the world.

You know we’ve discussed this before and you know I’ve told you more than once I’m not . I know you don’t really care too much about facts though so I’ll let it slide .
The fact is democrocy won by 52-48 percent in leaving - so is the margins ? well the welsh government was set up in a referendum by 50.3 versus 49.7 no debate it just happened - it replaced the Welsh office - not one quibble.....
if we had to leave on WTO rules -
Every WTO member has a list of tariffs (taxes on imports of goods) and quotas (limits on the number of goods) that they apply to other countries. These are known as their WTO schedules. The average EU tariff is pretty low (about 2.6% for non-agricultural products) - but, in some sectors, tariffs can be quite high -
Brutus Gove today trying to get tories to vote for Mays crap deal stated 40% on agriculture deals???
so if we leave on WTO rules and the tariffs are imposed the EU will pay more to uis as the export more to us than we import from them...... Oh and we can trade outside the EU Worldwide.......

10 billion that loans will never be paid back.......

What are you on about? UK Universities get 18% of the money they spend on teaching from the government, with much of this money being spent on very expensive subjects where the tuition fees don't cover the costs of running the course. If the government grant was cut, you would get fewer science related subjects taught, so you wouldn't get your dream world of YMCA nurses.

Universities also get government money to conduct research, most of which goes into making the British economy competitive on a global scale. Maybe @BigBlueNose can explain how incorrect statements can be responded to without appearing to talk down to the individual concerned?

Yeah again I’ve not asked for the result to be overturned , I know you’ve decided I have or maybe you just group all remainers together . You can put all kinds of figures up but i doesn’t relate to the fact ive not asked for a second ref . If the HOC rejects this may deal and we are looking at a no deal you may feel entitled to have a pop Because I think it may then have to be considered , otherwise keep your powder dry .

Nurses why are you fetching that argument up again in general etc in other employment sectors never went to universities Bruce - indeed before the EU most school children it was an honour to gain a City and Guild apprenticeship on leaving school, or as I was once told by a class teacher addressing the class your all a waste of time what will you ever be other than Factory fodder that's all I am teaching you atm ...
Well I proved him wrong vocational training is what we need to go back to not an academics that most of the MPs have been , and what a hash they make of it all.....
Bookworms , they don't no the real world the majority of them University fodder, book worms, even the experts have studied but never had work experience at the coal face.....
