I’ve lost family in those major wars and friends in more recent conflicts and I find that sort of stuff incredibly cheap to be honest .

Exactly. It's actually cheap. 7 euro for three years. The U.S variety is way more expensive.

I just like being petulant sometimes. I think for the UK remaining would be the better choice but part of me would like to see it crash and burn as the exchange rate when i return home would be favourable.

It’s going to cost isn’t it , it’s the way of where we are . To be totally fair people can’t be amazed when free travel ends that you have to pay to travel , it’s fairly obvious .

Hardly “way more expensive”....the ESTA is $14 for two years.

And of course if there is no deal in place when the UK leaves they will probably need a visa instead. Doubt if any of arch Brexiters have that any thought though. Travelling to EU countries is going to be a hoot for them.
