I think this is quite telling about the knowledge of a lot of Brexiteers and how easily brainwashed they can be when hearing things they want to hear from those they perceive to be clued up.

This past few weeks have been a series of humiliations for Rees Mogg. He likes to mock predictions from certain people - Mark Carney, Phillip Hammond etc and then got his own prediction badly wrong about the 48 letters going in the other week. He's then finally managed to get his no confidence challenge over the line and found that he got no where near removing her.

He has been so entrenched in his opinion that once a vote has been cast, that's the end of it and yet as soon as he doesn't get what he wants with this one, he's on TV telling the nation that she should go to to the Queen and resign. The man is a shameful hypocrite and his well spoken voice seems to mask his stupidity to loads of his brainwashed followers.
He runs an offshore hedge fund and is part of the old boys club. Who the hell thought he would be a good representative for the main body of people in the country who will suffer if we leave the EU? Him and Boris Johnson make my blood boil. If the main campaign for leave had been run by someone from a normal background I could understand it but why do people believe all of his nonsense?

Yes , yes they do .

Without wishing to be self-righteous, people said many times during the referendum campaign that Brexit would be wind in the sails of some thoroughly horrible people, of which Orban is undoubtedly one of them. The Britain of lore would have stood up against hooligans like him, but we've turned our back and walked away.
its about workers right this one Bruce, EU are bastions of those I am told so lets see them sort it.
Not are fight anymore we are not in the club soon don't make the rules, they can get along fine without us, we are told every day?
lets blame brexit , yep I am sure Andalucía ect voting the far right in had a lot to do with that, not the glorious EU for creating the environments that allowed them to flourish.
.
Also brexit had many left wing voter labour voters and backing of unions like the RMT so the link to the far right around Europe is a bit flimsy to say the least, it wasn't and never was a far right vote in the UK
What's next Brexit blamed for Coleman's drop in form in form because he is worried about the backstop

Is there anyone considered from a normal background in the tory party??

The problem with him is that he's a bit like Tommy Robinson in that he's largely insignificant (obviously he's a backbencher) but he's been given a platform to air his views and has a hugely inflated sense of self importance.

His extreme wing of the Tory Party, which is in a significant minority, is being held up by themselves and many Brexiteers as the voice of the whole country. They don't even represent all of the 52%, let alone any of the 48% who voted to remain yet they're being allowed to constantly shape the way things are going with their non-negotiable demands for leaving.

It's been said many times, but every single right wing despot in Europe was cock-a-hoop about Brexit as it supported their world view that foreigners are bad and borders need to be fortified. That's not really up for debate imo. The far left also have history in opposing migration because they believe it undercuts domestic wages, or as the RMT delightfully call it 'social dumping'.

As for Labour voters, y'know, it's quite possible for people to have left leaning economic views and yet be very socially conservative. Indeed, I'd argue on the basis of their posts on here that people like @Joey66 fits into that box.

As you say though, it's 'not your fight' any more, so I trust you won't be using the mess left behind to say how dreadful the EU is.

By socially conservative you mean I live in a nice owned house and in a nice area - I do not forget my council house roots, or indeed my two up two down house, my late father who was a miner and my trade union which retired I am still a member of - I have always voted labour , but only last time abstained, as I could not vote for Corbyn ...
I voted brexit like many many labour voters .........
