He was an horrendous politician and military leader, a political outcast for most of his career, his time prior to the war was one calamitous chapter after another. There is no doubt Britain would probably have lost the war without him, although his contribution has to be seem through the prism of the victor.

Yes sent thousands to their death at Gallipol, I know his history parts of it were horrendous- he led the war collation government to do the impossible, and win the war - May has been the opposite in her negotiations with the EU, and even if she holds on tonight her deal still faces problems unless the EU concede on the backstop!

I agree with that Joey. Politicians of old were actually respectable. Don't have any respect for them these days, all rich over priveliged silver spoon tossers who have never spent a single day in the real great Britain in their lives

I saw a documentary once where the president flew a fighter jet and defeated an invading alien army. He'd have smashed these negotiations, and his experience dealing with aliens would have made Britain pure again that's for sure.
