I was talking to a lad last night who works in processing asylum claims , he was chatting about the logistics of leaving and the prospect of no deal. The numbers he thinks UKBA would need to recruit just to stand still are staggering. they’re looking to recruit an additional couple of hundred , I presume locally but it was a bit of a party so quite loud and I was obviously drinking , but he seems to think ten times the number would be required just to keep it ticking over .

To be fair, it's probably because we need border patrol staff to have a PhD or something, when in reality all they need is to watch a few episodes of Dad's Army and It Aint Half Hot Mum.

..i’m not a fan of a 2nd referendum, I think common sense will prevail and a cross-party deal reached that will secure a majority in Parliament. That deal will be along the lines of Norway+.

The Tory insistence on immigration makes me smile. They are not able to manage non-EU immigration, May’s record as Home Secretary was diabolical, so I have no reason to think things will change even if there’s a block on free movement.
