Like the many in the UK who applied for republic of Ireland passports.........
pot calling kettle black - Farage name is over 300 years he had English parents - his great Grandfather was German from London........his Grandfather fought in the 1st world war for Britain .......
Sorry mate, I'm not sure what your point is...

I don't know, and I don't think it really matters. There is nothing wrong with having two passports if your parents have different nationalities.
I know Germans who had to give up their German passport to get an American one as Germany won't allow it's citizens to hold two.
I don't know if that applies if you're applying for German citizenship.
If Farage was that concerned about their heritage, he'd have gotten them german passports at birth.
Perhaps he never applied for them before Brexit because they weren't needed for the perks of being an EU citizen, now they are.

Hes a carpetbagger and a hypocrite.

I’m applying for an Irish passport because there is a real chance Brexit will impact on my life and lifestyle . A selfish reason amongst other less personal reasons I voted remain . I’ve always been proud of my heritage and others in the family have obtained passports previously so this felt like an opportune moment . However if I’d voted Brexit it’d be a bit different don’t you think ? It’d be hypocritical at the very least , as far as I can see it’s apples and oranges .

are you throwing your lot in with Farage Joe?, One thing being for brexit, another supporting this untrustworthy charlatan
One of the most unsavoury elements about this whole thing is seeing people who say they are on the left throwing their oar in with the likes of him whose only motivation is narrow minded nationalism. Independence Day my backside.

It's not just about heritage though is it? What if Mrs Farage wants to move back to Germany? Can she not take her kids with her? With a pre-brexit British passport, this would not have been an issue. Now of course, it is. It's simply practical to do so and many other families with mixed nationalities will be doing exactly the same.

No my son wiki it as you were all posting guff about him good job you are not liable to be sued he is from a french back ground over 300 years ago though tut tut......
I got told off for calling Anna Soubry an old cow this am.........:p

Edit sorry , I sort of get you know .

I replied to walken talking about farage saying simply calling him a untrustworthy charlatan. I was hinting that in my opinion he’s significantly worse . I’ve no idea on his family heritage to be honest , generally doesn’t concern me . Except I suppose when people campaign for Brexit removing freedom of movement from millions knowing their own kids will be ok or talk about foreigners taking their own languages in trains when their own partners natife tongue is German .

Many people students in the U.K. Study many languages .....
The only thing in common I have with him is he was an outer like me, but he is a bit more extreme we would never have got a EU in out referendum if it was not for his then party UKIP - Cameron panicked the rest his history....
I feel May wants to get out of her job imo.......

General Election is my bet
That will throw Labour into the spotlight Corbyn no 2nd vote Keir Starmer a 2nd vote
I can see May being toppled and a Brexit MP being the leader not a known one a dark horse like the John Major figure an outsider perhaps , but will have the same problems but then a GE needs to be had to get a majority for either party .....

Just had this come through. Really hard to see how such uncertainty can be spun as a good thing, especially by people saying Brexit will benefit trade.

We won’t know if the Brexit deal is good, bad or ugly for another 10 years. If you’re serious about creating, building and safeguarding wealth in the next decade, you need to consider global opportunities.

This is the warning from the CEO and founder of one of the world’s largest independent financial advisory organisations.

deVere Group’s Nigel Green is speaking out as Downing Street confirmed that a “draft agreement” had been reached in Brussels after 19 months of negotiations to end the UK’s four decades of EU membership and that the British cabinet would meet at 2pm on Wednesday.

If the cabinet approves the draft it would mean a special European Council summit could be arranged to sign it off before the end of November, giving the UK’s Parliament the chance to vote on it before Christmas.

Mr Green affirms: “Theresa May now has to sell the agreement to her cabinet and Parliament. This could be an uphill struggle.

“However, I believe that it will ultimately go through – largely due to the enormous pressure put on Parliament by the markets and business, which are craving more certainty.

“Once approved, we can expect markets and the pound to rally on relief – but this is likely to be only temporary.

He continues: “Make no mistake, this is not the end but the beginning of the Brexit process.

“We will not know if the deal is good, bad or ugly for another 10 years. It will be affected considerably by events still to happen.

“The ‘certainty’ that’s craved by the markets and business is likely to be short-lived as huge swathes of voters – fuelled by Eurosceptic politicians and other influencers – will not accept the deal, seeing it as politically unsustainable, which will have a destabilising effect and potentially lead to an ongoing constitutional crisis.”

Mr Green goes on to say: “In this environment of short, medium and long-term uncertainty, if you’re serious about creating, building and safeguarding wealth in the next decade, you need to think about global opportunities.

“Precautions must be taken against a fall in UK assets by increasing exposure to international options, including global stocks, bonds and perhaps property.”

In a media statement yesterday, the deVere CEO stated: “In terms of investment strategy, if investors are already invested broadly across asset classes, sectors and regions, for instance by having a global multi-asset portfolio, they should sit tight. There is too much uncertainty around Brexit to be able to take strong bets on a region, asset class or even a currency.”
