That's was your prerogative, but unfortunately the vote went Out - I agree it's been badly mismanaged by May, but it has not shown the EU in a good light either - a good free trade deal should have been a priority early on not the last issue.....

And therein lies the reality mate.

What "Out" wanted was never really addressed. I am not really sure what May, or anyone else, could have cobbled together. Again, more than a few on here, and in the Border thread, have said for ages; Nothing will solve the situation, at all.

Project Fear looks like becoming Project Reality. Unless I have missed something.

600 pages of guff for them read....
It will be rejected ...

Still can't believe we fecked our own country on the basis of foreigners and spite. The vast majority of the Tory party are utter dirt bags but the country votes them in because on the whole we are a bunch of spoiled self entitled brats who couldn't give a feck about the struggle of others as long as we can enjoy our fecking Pimm's mate.

I know. What "Out" wanted was never in a million miles going to happen. Free trade, Free Movement of Goods, without a contribution.

Some realised that. Some hate the EU enough to compromise the UK. I hope sommet gets sorted, cos like you have said, the trade is deffo a two way street. But, after 2 1/2 years, and a few months from leaving, it feels a bit bleak.

I’d suggest you probably can in that it’d be a military that works and cooperates in the way that NATO does with the same myriad of languages and varying commanders depending on the situation .

NATO is an alliance from which about 75-85% of the effective power comes from two nations which speak the same language, and where most of the rest do have a choice over what they do.

An EU Army is on the other hand of necessity going to have to be deployable and effective throughout the continent, it is going to have to cover areas that an individual constituent nation might not see as being in its interest and it is going to have to be staffed by the best.

To be fair, most foreigners probably speak better English than the average squaddie.

Surely NATO has to be deployable throughly the continent , otherwise it’s fairly pointless no ? I’ll not argue the power comes from the US if you look at the make up of both the political and military decisions making commands they’re obviously diverse . Plenty of non US & U.K. senior officers , again I’ll not argue the US are the driving force but ultimately officers from across the organisation are there .
