The human rights act -PC gone mad my son got a complaint as a password he put on a firm's computer was Blackwatch {they felt it had racist undertones} they complained he had 10 pc passwords and always uses an app for childrens inoffensive off the wall passwords for good security - his boss just smiled and stated he would explain it was not racist comment......
That's why we need to move away from the EU Courts...... PC gone mad........

Does the human rights act cover that ? I genuinely didn’t think it did

Blackwatch was deemed to be racist so is that not offending a fellow human being?.............

I’m far from an expert but I think there is a bit more to the human rights act than that but quickly did you say your sons ‘firm’ ? So he doesn’t work for a public authority, if he doesn’t then with my limited knowledge I don’t think the human rights act applies .

Right, so the problem was caused by a pm's wife, a pm you voted for, so the EU must go... Are you a REMOANER shill attempting to undermine any rational credibility for Brexit?

Interestingly, some researchers in Iowa have recently looked at towns in the state with shrinking populations, and what distinguishes those who shrink well (ie still give residents a good quality of life) and those that don't. They came up with four main characteristics of the better performing towns.
  • Residents of smart shrinking towns are more civically engaged and have stronger social networks.
  • These residents tend to say their towns are more trusting, supportive, and tolerant.
  • Smart shrinking towns have more private and public investment.
  • Residents say their leaders work on behalf of everyone and newcomers are welcomed as leaders, showing strong “bridging social capital,” a term that refers to how people connect across society.
Not sure how many of these apply in shrinking (leave voting) towns?

Preston?
Isn't it quite different in the States with their localised taxes as opposed to Westminster taking the lions share and taxes being paid where the hq is based syphoning money from the provinces?

Quite possibly. I just thought it interesting as managing (or ideally reversing) the decline of towns is a crucial act for governments over the past few decades, and one could argue that it hasn't been managed well at all. This suggests that there are things that tend to typify towns that do this better than others. Sadly it doesn't seem as though many towns are trusting and tolerant, or welcoming of newcomers (to name two of the above)
